Graduation speech

Like the song that the Sister Sledge group sang, we are family. Golf is a family as our real family is. Our friends are our brothers and sisters. Our teachers and staff are our parents. School is exactly like a family because of what we do. We fight, we forgive, we praise and we bicker.  That's how life is going to be. We have to make life the best life we can.
In school we learned that saying the truth will get you in trouble. So everybody learned to have to keep secrets. I have a secret of my own. My secret is that I learned that the secret to these 4 years and well to these next couple decades is that we are changing each other every single day. Whether it's your parents forcing you to pass all your tests with flying colors or just people you know that are doing something stupid and you join in and get in trouble too. Whether it's people telling secrets at Camp MacLean or hiding them in your minds. It's whether you decide to be the bigger person and step away no matter what they call you or to be a follower and join them and not be called anything is what changes you.
People changing others is what the teachers do for us every day. From dividing and conquering our work to independent try harding. From participating to stop talking or your going to miss something good. They fill us with all the info that we can take in and make sure that we are protected and secure so that we can do what we came to school to do. We learn. Having fun is one thing you can make the best out of school but our main focus is to learn.
Another way people change people is that we learn from what we have done. We learn to shut our gates when our dogs runs away or to be safer on your bike and look both ways or to stop procrastinating when you have a lot of work to do. That should change us for the better.
EVEN OUR EXPERIENCES AT GOLF ARE THINGS THAT CAN CHANGE US FOR THE BETTER. WE LEARNED THAT 4 CLAPS CAN LAND YOU INTO THE PRINCIPALS OFFICE. WE LEARNED, THAT STICKING YOUR NOSE IN SOMEONE'S BUSINESS CAN PUT YOU ON THE FLOOR. I FOR SURE LEARNED THAT 10 OUT OF 10 TIMES, TO ALWAYS TRUST YOURSELVES.
Those little changes from learning from mistakes with the right mind can turn a druggie into a scholar in time. People changing others. Remember that. Change people for the better. That's what your families do for you. Do some good for someone else. Thank you teachers, staff, class of 2016, and of course our parents. We wouldn't even be here without you guys. KUYA OUT.
